Howard Center Fall community education series on opiate use and treatment Sept 8

Howard Center will launch its Fall Community Education Series on Thursday, September 8, with a panel forum on opiate use and treatment. The presenters for this session include Bob Bick, CEO, Howard Center; Dan Brugger, Community Member; Brandon del Pozo, Chief of Police, BPD; Patti Fisher, MD, UVM Medical Center; and Barbara Rachelson, Executive Director, LUND. Martha Maksym, Executive Director of the United Way of Northwest Vermont will serve as facilitator. The talk is from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Dealer.com at 1 Howard Street, Burlington (at the corner of Pine and Howard).

Other topics in the series include suicide risk and prevention and rethinking the role of psychiatric drugs. The fall series is supported by Geri Reilly Real Estate, Dealer.com, and Vermont Community Access Media. In addition, this fall Howard Center will also support a Symposium on Psychiatry in the Third Reich sponsored by the University of Vermont Miller Center for Holocaust Studies. All Community Education Series  presentations are free and open to the public and include an opportunity for questions and answers. Registration is not required; seating is first-come, first-served.
