BACKGROUND:
The Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is an inter-regional, bi-national, trans-border organization established in 1973 in recognition of the special bond that exists between the six New England states and the five Eastern Canadian provinces. Its members are the governors and the premiers of those states and provinces. The meetings are held alternately in New England and Eastern Canada. The last meeting was held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in 2017.
