Intellectual Property Basics & Patent Competition Kick-Off
Join intellectual property attorneys Cathy Stadecker and Kevin McGrath for an evening geared to early-stage companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs. No matter how small your venture, it is key to any successful business to have a plan in place for its intellectual property.
This event will serve as the kick-off to our 2017 Patent Competition. Companies considering applying are encouraged to attend and ask questions about the competition as well as any general IP questions they might have.
Topics on deck for discussion include:
- Patents: the costs and benefits of patenting — are they right for your business? Also, best practices for obtaining patents and assessing competitor patents.
- Trademarks: how do you distinguish yourself? What trademarks can and cannot do for you, as well as basics on what you can and can’t trademark.
