VERMONT WORKS FOR WOMEN & RANDOLPH TECH CENTER HOST CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS

What: Career Challenge Day returns in-person to RTCC this Wednesday. This is the 19th year of Career Challenge Day at RTCC!

Career Challenge Day is a free career exploration event for female and gender-expansive students in grades 6-9. Middle school students from RTCC’s sending area are invited to attend this day-long event where they meet the instructors of non-traditional programs (programs where female-identifying students comprise 25% or less of students enrolled) and participate in hands-on activities to gain a better understanding of the courses, learning activities and corresponding career pathways. Career Challenge Day creates the opportunity for students to think broadly about their futures, explore in a fun and confidence-building environment, and consider incorporating career and tech center education into their learning journey.

Participating schools this year include: Brookfield Elementary, Northfield Middle High School, Orange Center School, Randolph Elementary School, Randolph Union Middle High School, The Sharon Academy, White River Valley Middle High School

Schedule:

8:30 AM – 9:25 AM | Students (70+ registered) arrive at RTCC, Welcome

9:30 AM – 11:30 AM | Students rotate through various RTCC programs*, completing a hands-on project at each station

11:30 AM – 12:10 PM | Lunch

12:15 PM – 2:00 PM | Students rotate through additional RTCC programs and projects

2:00 PM – 2:20 PM | Wrap up

2:20 PM | students depart
