BMH to host free screening of “Fed Up” documentary
Brattleboro, VT -- (Sept. 11, 2015) – Brattleboro Memorial Hospital will host a FREE showing of “Fed Up”, a documentary film that investigates how the American food industry may be responsible for more sickness than previously realized.
“Fed Up” is a 2014 American documentary film directed, written and produced by Stephanie Soechtig. The film focuses on the causes of obesity in the US, presenting evidence showing that the large quantities of sugar in processed foods are an overlooked root of the problem, and points to the lobbying power of "Big Sugar" in blocking attempts to enact policies to address the issue. Executive Producers of the film include journalist and anti-cancer advocate Katie Couric and Academy Award- winning filmmaker Laurie David, who won the Oscar for “An Inconvenient Truth”.
