8th Annual Women Helping Battered Women Zumbathon
”CELEBR-8”
Women Helping Battered Women (WHBW) will be holding their 8Th Annual Zumbathon® Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 1-3 pm at South Burlington High School, on Dorset Street in South Burlington, Vermont. The WHBW Zumbathon® is an annual fundraising event organized in partnership with local licensed Zumba® Fitness Instructors.
Zumba® Fitness is a high-energy, Latin inspired dance fitness program that blends international music and contagious movement (www.zumba.com). Over 38 instructors on 12 teams are participating in this year’s event with an exciting and energetic play-list that will celebrate the music of all 5 decades that WHBW has been providing safety and advocacy to victims of domestic violence.
The annual Zumbathon® raises money to support direct services to victims and survivors of domestic abuse and to provide education to help prevent domestic abuse. WHBW is Vermont’s largest domestic violence service provider and has been working to end domestic abuse in Chittenden County for over 40 years. Last year, WHBW provided services and support to over 4500 women, children, and men impacted by domestic abuse.
Event check-in begins at 12:00 p.m. with entertainment and presentation of awards by emcee Tim Kavanagh. The Zumba® dance party starts at 1:00 and runs until 3:00 p.m. To register go to: http://www.firstgiving.com/22338/8th-Annual-Zumbathon-CELEBR-8
