Over 70 vendors offering fleece and yarn, handspinning and fibercrafting equipment and supplies, handcrafted wool items, small ruminant equipment and supplies, fencing materials, meat and cheese.
Marketplace vendors are located in the Animal Barn, the Vendor Pavilion, on the grounds outside the Pavilion and in the Dodge-Gilman Building.
Our workshops are designed to educate owners – and future owners – of small ruminants. These talks are free and no registration is necessary.
We’d love to hear from you with suggestions for future workshops or if you have the knowledge and skills to teach a Shepherd Workshop.
Class options include a variety of full and half day sessions featuring fiber arts such as spinning, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, needle felting and weaving. Register for a class and receive a free pass to the Festival!
Please drop us an email with suggestions for future Fiberarts Classes or instructors.
Contests this year include our traditional Handspun Yarn Contest as well as a contest we are calling “Put the Hand Back in Handicraft”. The latter is a contest for hand crafted items for the hand – mittens, gloves and fingerless mitts. The handspun entries will be judged by a qualified handspinner, but the Festival-going public will be asked to vote for their favorite “Handicraft” entries. Please stop by Floral Hall to view all contest entries and cast your ballot.
The show and sale will be held in Floral Hall this year. We expect contest judging to be finished by around noon on Saturday when the winning fleeces will be on exhibit and the sale will open to the public. Come by early for the best selection.
Floral Hall Activities
Don’t forget to visit Floral Hall! All our contests – fleece, handspun yarn and handicrafts – will be judged and exhibited at Floral Hall beginning at around noon on Saturday.
The ever popular Drop In & Spin will be held in Floral Hall. Try your hand on one of wheels under the tutelage of our volunteer spinners.
New this year: Vendor Demos
A number of our Marketplace Vendors have volunteered to showcase their talents, crafting abilities and/or fiber products for these brief free demos. All demos will take place inside Floral Hall with the exception of the wood turning demo which will be located outside the Dodge-Gilman Building beside Floral Hall.
