University of Vermont Cancer Center to Host 22nd Annual Women’s Health and Cancer Conference: OCTOBER 4, 2019
BURLINGTON, VT – The University of Vermont (UVM) Cancer Center’s 22nd Annual Women’s Health and Cancer Conference takes place at the Double Tree by Hilton, Burlington, Vt. on Friday, October 4. This yearly event, attended by nearly 1,000 cancer survivors, health care professionals, and members of the general public is focused on education around prevention and wellness for women when it comes to cancer. This event is made possible with investments from presenting supporter, the Victoria Buffum Fund at the UVM Medical Center and with major support from the University of Vermont Medical Center, the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, and the Eleanor B. Daniels Fund at the UVM Cancer Center.
Experts from the UVM Cancer Center, as well as guests from around the region, will be sharing information and expertise at the conference as well as running interactive sessions. Pre-registration for this free event is closed, but walk-ins are welcome and attendees may join one or more remaining open sessions as well as visit the exhibitor’s hall, which offers information and resources and is open all day. Continuing education credits are available for select sessions across a variety of professional fields.

• Content has expanded to include information on a spectrum of cancers and wellness issues facing women. With nearly 40,000 cancer survivors in the state of Vermont alone, educational content is geared at meeting the needs of survivors in our region as well as the providers who care for them
• An all-day scientific poster session highlighting cancer research advances at the UVM Cancer Center
• New sessions cover topics including: Trans-Affirmative Cancer Care, Cancer and Your Brain, Wellness Coaching in Cancer, Bladder Cancer, The Future of Cancer Care in our Region, and much more
• Keynote presenter Nikoletta Sidiropoulos, MD, will begin the day with a look at Genomic Medicine: A Cornerstone of Precision Cancer Care
