Three-day festival offers special events and screenings, guests.
The Vermont International Film Festival (VTIFF) is delighted to announce the first in-person Made Here Film Festival, April 22 through April 24, in collaboration with Vermont PBS and VPR. MHFF is a celebration of films from the Northern New England states (VT, ME, NH, MA) and Quebec.
The festival will take place at Burlington Beer Co. (BBCO) on Flynn Ave. in Burlington, in the historic factory building that was built by cinema pioneers the Lumière Brothers. The screenings will take place in a special event hall and throughout the brewery. The festival will be in hybrid format, offering the films virtually after the in-person festival run.
The BBCO building was erected as a factory in 1901, built by the Lumière Brothers to test and produce their innovative Autochrome system. Made Here now honors the continuity of made here then and now, with creativity in the film and photographic world. The historic French connection continues in other ways: in addition to films from all Northern New England states, Made Here Film Festival showcases the best of films submitted by Québec filmmakers.
Festival goers will be able feast their eyes on 35 films (features and shorts), and their mouths on good beer and food in between screenings.
The full schedule is now available online for viewing and booking. Made Here Film Festival is on a pay-as-you-can basis, with a percentage of donations shared with the filmmakers. Visit https://vtiff.org/ for more information.
