The film follows the epic adventure of twenty plus-sized women on their journey to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro. The 90-minute film follows the group from training through the actual climb and along the way touches upon the themes of fatness, representation, self-acceptance, and everyday acts of courage. This is an inspiring and brave film with exceptional lessons in perseverance, courage, vulnerability, and encouragement.
“This is a beautiful and compelling film,” said Priscilla Latkin, Senior Director of Training and Education and member of the hospital’s DEIB committee. “The committee, which is made of hospital leaders, employees, and community members, felt that the universal messages of bravery, commitment, and acceptance are important and would resonate with all viewers.”
