2024 Vermont Employee Ownership Conference, May 31

What: The Vermont Employee Ownership Center invites the business community to mark their calendars for its 22nd Annual Vermont Employee Ownership Conference in Burlington on May 31, 2024. The conference will offer a morning plenary address by Melissa Hoover of the Democracy at Work Institute. Melissa is DAWI’s founding Executive Director, its current Director of Special Projects, and an executive fellow at the Rutgers Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing. Following the keynote, the conference will offer 24 sessions through four rounds of workshops, panel discussions, and lecture-style presentations on shared ownership models.

This conference is designed for business owners interested in learning more about employee ownership as an exit strategy; anyone interested in employee participation or sustainable business models; employees of established employee-owned companies; economic development professionals; bankers, accountants, attorneys, and financial planners; academics, researchers, and students.

Who: The Vermont Employee Ownership Center is a statewide non-profit whose mission is to promote and foster employee ownership in order to broaden capital ownership, deepen employee participation, retain jobs, increase living standards for working families, and stabilize communities. We provide information and resources to owners interested in selling their business to their employees, employee groups interested in purchasing a business, and entrepreneurs who wish to start up a company with broadly shared ownership.
