Vermont Department of Health There is a nationwide shortage of infant formula, and Vermont families report having a hard time finding infant formula in stores. This supply chain shortage grew worse after a recall of certain Abbott Nutrition products in February. Abbott recalled seven different infant products after four babies developed bacterial infections from consuming formula that was produced at a manufacturing plant in Michigan.

The Vermont Army National Guard will host a public tour of Camp Ethan Allen Firing Range on June 7. The tour will run from 2 p.m. until approximately 5:15 p.m. next Tuesday afternoon. This particular tour will focus on unit training, with anticipated stops to view 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry (Mountain) conduct live-fire exercises during their annual training.

Vermont Business Magazine On Saturday, September 3rd Bennington, Vermont will once again transform into “Garlic Town, USA” in celebration of all things garlic and agriculture! Garlic Town, USA, formerly known as the award-winning Garlic Fest and produced by the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, announced that the festival will return to downtown Bennington for the 2022 Labor Day weekend.

Bennington has become world-renowned for its annual garlic events held every year on Labor Day weekend. The town’s garlic events have been recognized as one of the top 10 garlic festivals in the world by Reuters, featured in Yankee Magazine, awarded Vermont’s Time-Honored Top 10 Fall Event and has been consecutively the Bennington Banner and Manchester Journals Reader’s Choice for Best Event in the Region.

Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont State Police has added a new civilian position of recruitment specialist to the agency’s Office of Professional Development, the Pittsford-based unit whose responsibilities include attracting new sworn members to VSP’s ranks. Dale Nelson, a native Vermonter who grew up on a dairy farm in Derby, becomes the first civilian to hold the title of recruiter within the Vermont State Police.

Join us at Coolidge State Park on Route 100A on Tuesday, July 12th and Pingree Flats on Route 100 on Thursday, July 14th from 9:30am-2:30 pm in Plymouth. Attendees will learn how to assess a site for its wetland restoration potential, account for specific site considerations such as native and invasive plants, site limitations, soils and hydrology, plan restoration strategies and manage restoration projects.
