New Chair confirmed for VT ESGR

We are pleased to announce that Jean O’Sullivan, of Burlington, has been confirmed by Headquarters, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (DoD) as the new State Chair for Vermont Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. In that role, Jean will provide leadership and vision for the Vermont “committee”, comprised primarily of volunteers and a small full-time support staff.

Jean has worked in the private sector in a number of roles to include financial and retail business owner. She is a serving Vermont State Representative from Burlington and is the ranking member of the House. She is also the Clerk on House Commerce and Economic Development. She has served in several public service capacities to include Burlington City Councilor, and a member of a variety of city and state councils and boards. Jean was also co-author of the Vermont National Guard Sexual Assault and Harassment Report bill, SS 427. O’Sullivan replaces Shawn Bryan, of Berlin, who held the position for over 6 years.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a US Department of Defense organization that promotes, recognizes, and enhances civilian employer support of citizen service members. ESGR also facilitates meaningful employment opportunities for citizen warriors, all veterans, and military spouses.
