The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is seeking volunteers who would like to become 'Let's Go Fishing' instructors so they can pass on Vermont's fishing tradition to the next generation of Vermonters.
The department will be hosting a one-day training workshop for new instructors onSaturday, September 23at the Precision Valley Rod and Gun Club in Perkinsville.
Instructors in the 'Let's Go Fishing' program organize and instruct clinics in their communities for young people and their families.
Vermont Fish & Wildlife's "Let's Go Fishing Program" will be holding two educational fishing clinics in September, both which are free and open to anglers of all ages and abilities.
The first clinic, "Intro to Trout Fishing with Spin Casting Equipment," will be held onSaturday, September 16from9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.at the Waterbury Public Library in Waterbury.
The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is past the midway point on completing a series of fishing access area improvement projects designed to enhance accessibility for anglers and boaters, including those with disabilities.
This summer, eight new ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant docks have been installed at fishing access areas in Rutland, Newport, Orleans, Addison and Essex counties.
