"We have chosen a leader who we believe will bring a great deal of new energy to the association," said VAHHS Board Chair Thomas Dee. "Jeffrey Tieman's considerable experience at the forefront of national health care policy will be an asset as Vermont's hospitals work to chart a successful course through the challenges of health reform."

Tieman received his Master of Professional Studies from the George Washington School of Political Management in 2014, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Colorado College in 1996. Prior to joining CHA in 2004, he served as Washington Bureau Chief for Modern Healthcare magazine and held a variety of health care communication positions around the country.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead VAHHS at this exciting time for health care in Vermont," Tieman said. "I look forward to working with the Board, hospitals and others around the state to continue building a health care system that works well for everyone and can be a model of innovation, creativity and partnership."

VAHHS began the search process in early spring, after former President and CEO Bea Grause was named President of the Healthcare Association of New York State (Story). Vice President of Finance Michael Del Trecco and Vice President of Policy and Legislative Affairs Jill Mazza Olson have been serving as Interim Co-Executive Officers.
