By supporting your citizen service member- employee, you too have served, and have ensured their ability to perform their military service!
We apologize if you have received an award and were not listed here; some awards arrived after the press deadline for this edition. If you are listed here and have not received an award, then please know that presentation of your award is pending.
Are You Prepared?? Since Vermont’s 86th Brigade’s alignment with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY, their training tempo has increased, and will continue to do so as they spend the upcoming years conducting incrementally increasing periods of training. Employers must be prepared once again to support these citizen soldiers as they prepare and train; we ask that you also support the military spouses who will become a “single parent” while their partner is at training. And as our Vermont Air National Guard “Green Mountain Boys” prepare and train to receive the F-35 fighter aircraft, these airmen will also need additional training time.
By now, your citizen service member should have shared this enhanced training schedule with you. If they haven’t, feel free to ask them (not all Vermont soldiers will be on this schedule.)
Vermont ESGR needs volunteers! We need volunteers, especially in the “four corners” of the state; St. Albans, St. Johnsbury/NEK, Brattleboro, and Bennington/Rutland. If you would like to serve your country, but stay fairly close to home and work just a few hours a month, please contact us to find out more about becoming an ESGR Volunteer!
Have jobs for Guard/Reserve members and other veterans? Post them on www.vermontjoblink.com and also at: www.veterans.gov. You can also notify us at: 802-338-4187 or 802-338-4190.
