For the past century and a half, Community Bank N.A. has sustained its tradition of a community-focused approach in our markets, ensuring high-quality customer service since we first opened our doors in 1866. As a full-service financial institution, we provide a range of retail and business banking services, comprehensive financial planning, and insurance and wealth management services across Vermont, Western Massachusetts, New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Even with a footprint reaching four states wide, our focus remains on the customer—and the community.
From a smile and friendly hello to an experienced and personal understanding of customers’ financial goals, every day our team lives the bank’s core principle, “Bank Happy.” We’re extremely proud to have been consistently ranked among the top 15 banks in America by Forbes magazine for the past seven years running, most recently ranking sixth in 2017. In addition, JD Power and Associates ranked Community Bank N.A. second on its 2018 U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Our branch employees are more than just your local teller or banker—they’re your neighbors, friends, maybe even family. They live in Vermont and are committed to giving our region and communities a better tomorrow. In 2017, the Community Bank N.A. New England branches donated more than $340,000 to local charities and organizations in need. From the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival and The DREAM Program to local food shelves, adaptive sports and mentoring programs, our goal is to support organizations that invest in our communities and help neighbors.
One of the many causes close to our hearts is Special Olympics Vermont. Across Vermont, our branches join together throughout the year to support and raise money for this cause. Countless team members brave the icy waters of Lake Champlain each February to support the organization’s Penguin Plunge, with 30 participants raising $6,154 in 2017. This year, we’re proud to have partnered with the University of Vermont to offer the “Goals for Good” Program—for each goal scored by the men’s hockey team during the 2018-19 hockey season, Community Bank N.A. will donate $100 to Special Olympics Vermont.
Each individual branch follows the passions of its employees and supports causes that are near and dear to its community’s heart. Staff often go above and beyond just donations—they volunteer their time and efforts to these organizations, as well. In 2018, our New England staff has committed more than 750 volunteers to local nonprofits and charities in need.
At Community Bank N.A., we don’t consider ourselves in the banking business. We’re in the people business. When customers walk into one of our branches, we don’t simply help them with money decisions—we help neighbors buy first homes, start their dream businesses and finance their children’s college educations. We’re people helping people. That’s how our story began, and that’s how it will continue for our next 150 years.
