On behalf of the King Street Center Board of Directors, we are pleased to share the exciting announcement that Shabnam Beth Nolan is being welcomed as the new Executive Director, Board chair Stacie Fagan shared. I am inspired by Shabnam's passion and vision for centering both kids and equity at King Street Center. And, I look forward to introducing you to her over the coming weeks and months so that you can experience her warmth, energy, and readiness to lead. She will spend the next month learning from Vicky Smith, meeting kids, families, staff, board members and community partners.
She shared with me, "The opportunity to lead King Street into a new chapter combines my passion for kids with my commitment to justice and equity. I could not be more thrilled or honored to be its next executive director.”
Most recently, Shabnam was the communications director for ACLU of Vermont. Prior to this, Shabnam worked for child advocacy organizations in Vermont and Virginia, where she coordinated a successful statewide campaign to increase access to dental care for children, with Voices for Vermont's Children, and served as director of KIDS COUNT, a nationwide initiative that tracks child well-being. Nolan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Vermont.
In this 50th year since King Street Center's founding, I could not be more excited to celebrate the decades of community building in this neighborhood and the promise of what is to come. Thank you for your continued care and commitment.
