Who better to tell the Vermont story and speak of Vermont opportunities than a 5th generation native Vermonter! Jax Willey has transformed her Vermont based executive search and technical recruiting agency from working primarily with global clients such as Deloitte to one that focuses on helping strengthen Vermont businesses by providing critical engineering and management talent. The foundation she’s developed over the past several years has resulted in bringing 5+ families (professionals) per month into Vermont. This number is increasing as her agency’s talent pool continues to grow and word of mouth spreads. She goes out of her way in helping facilitate the move to Vermont – broad network of local support to help new Vermonters find housing, locate schools for their children and more. Ripple effect of efforts – creates opportunities for local communities where she places talent. “Grass roots” – Boots on the ground approach and genuine non salesy approach of life in Vermont.

Jax invites you into the world of Vermont, with her candid shots of real Vermonters and stories of what it is really like to live in a place off the beaten path. She doesn't sell the lifestyle, she invites you to explore it, from her world living on a dirt road where when she's not recruiting, she's foraging, gardening, and bringing her kids up to appreciate nature and sustainability of Vermont's natural world. Her genuine approach is apparent in the deep discussions she has with candidates, helping them decide if Vermont is the right place for them, and their families. Through her personal goals of preserving Vermont’s natural resources and beauty, balanced with the hope that she can contribute to a stronger state for future generations, she strives to keep and invite the next stewards of Vermont, to stay or come. Jax’s previous interests of studying culture and environmental sustainability have led her to have a desire to share with people not only the potential jobs that are open in Vermont but the potential for a wholesome natural life outside of work.

Jax is the co-founder of Igniting Power, a program Orion developed to provide virtual career opportunities in recruiting and sourcing for the blind and visually impaired community. Program created with the assistance of the Vermont Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Harvard/MIT’s edX Program, The Sourcing Institute, the University of Vermont Medical Center and many others. She assisted in the development of course content, provided instructional assistance and mentored graduates.

Jax is also a co-founder of the Platelets for Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) established to promote platelet education, donorship and research. The Foundation was established with the assistance of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

She lives in Coventry with her husband, Anthony (UVM Educator and Prosper Team Lead) and their children, Jaden, a Senior at St. Johnsbury Academy considering a degree in Engineering at UVM next year and Indigo a First Grader at Coventry Elementary School.
