Mack introduces new team members

Mack Molding, which is experiencing the most significant increase in customer activity in the past decade, has announced additions to its Vermont and South Carolina teams as the Company looks to drive continued growth across the organization. “Our customers rely on us to stay ahead of industry trends and market changes,” said Mack Molding President Jeff Somple. “We do that by investing in new technology, advancing our existing team’s skills through training and by attracting top talent to bring new perspectives and capabilities to our organization. Whether they are a former intern, cultivated to lead manufacturing into the future, or a skilled technician or professional bringing their experience to bear for the benefit our customers, our newest recruits reflect our commitment to helping our customers find their success.”

Travis Pettengill has joined Mack as a program manager with the Headquarters’ sales and engineering team. Travis, who brings seven years of experience to the role, most recently worked at Zefon International in Ocala, Fla., where he was a project engineer and designer for products used in the industrial hygiene market. In addition, he gained valuable engineering experience at BAE Systems in Nashua, NH, and at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Travis has a master’s of science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla; and a bachelor’s of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH.

Mack has welcomed Pia Dechamps as a manufacturing engineer at Headquarters. Pia, with a comprehensive background in sheet metal, manufacturing and machinery, was a project/quality lead materials engineer at QuEST Global Pratt and Whitney VBU in East Hartford, Conn., where she helped to set manufacturing processes for new product developments and implemented quality control processes. She gained additional engineering experience as a machine shop assistant at Metal Finish, LLC in Plainville, Conn. Pia has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Former intern Clayton Harrington has returned to Mack Headquarters as an associate tool engineer. He will be responsible for supporting new business activity with customer design reviews and design for manufacturing analysis, as well as helping to develop and manage molds. A graduate of the University of Rochester, Clayton has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He previously worked as a program manager and design/tooling engineer intern. Prior to Mack, Clayton was an engineering intern at Cambridge Valley Machining, Inc. in Cambridge, NY.

Douglas Moultrie has joined Mack’s Inman, SC, facility as a quality engineer, with responsibility for addressing and resolving quality issues, acting as a source of information regarding customer requirements, and assisting quality engineering technicians and quality analysts. Prior to Mack, Douglas most recently worked as a quality engineer for Core Molding in SC. He also gained experience as a quality manager for The Crown Group in SC., a quality engineer for Grupo Antolin, as well as a quality consultant for Quality Systems Enhancement in Ga. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the role.

Mack has welcomed Dave Forrester to its Headquarters as a supplier engineer, with responsibility for ensuring Mack’s medical customers receive the highest quality parts. Prior to Mack, he served as a senior quality technician at Energizer Holdings, Inc in Bennington, Vt. Dave also built valuable experience working with medical devices at Haemonetics in Braintree, Mass. and Medical & Scientific Designs in Rockland, Mass., as well as further engineering expertise as a product manager/mechanical project design engineer at Bijur Lubricating Corporation in Bennington, Vt. He has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.

Larry Henson has joined Mack’s Inman, SC, plant, as a paint engineering manager. Larry will be responsible for working on custom molded plastic components, as well as optimizing paint processes and applications. Prior to Mack, he most recently worked as a maintenance/engineering senior manager for Tesla Motors. He gained additional experience in transportation market at Volkswagen Group of America and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama LLC, in Montgomery, Alabama. Larry has an associate’s degree from UAB Walker College in Jasper, Ala.

Mack’s Inman, SC, team has welcomed Danny Johnson as a molding process engineer. Danny, who brings more than 35 years of tooling experience to the position, will be responsible for helping identify and correct manufacturing issues, as well as develop strong processes and procedures for the molding department. Prior to Mack, he most recently worked as a plant manager for Delta Mold, Inc., in Charlotte, NC, where he previously gained significant engineering and leadership experience as a vice president of manufacturing and product development.
