Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community (SLR) announces a new addition to their psychiatric team, Dr. Dustin Dippen, MD. Psychiatric care is an important part of SLR’s treatment model, which blends traditional interventions with nature-based work therapy for adults experiencing mental health challenges. Dr. Dippen will join SLR’s psychiatric nurse practitioner Donald Grenier, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, to serve residents on the main campus in Shrewsbury and in the aftercare program located in Rutland. He brings a diverse slate of experience, including clerkships with Patch Adams and the Mayo Clinic. He has held positions at research hospitals and rural clinics, in private practice, and most recently, inpatient psychiatry at Brattleboro Retreat.
Dr. Dippen grew up in Wisconsin and has lived in England, South and Central America, and the Bahamas. He finished his medical education at the University of VT and now lives in Middlebury with his family, where he enjoys small-scale farming and woodworking in his time off. SLR invited Dr. Dippen to their team due to his diverse approach to medicine and astute understanding of how individually complex mental illness can be.
“I am honored and excited to join the team at Spring Lake Ranch as Consulting Psychiatrist,” says Dr. Dippen. “Throughout my career, I have been drawn to approaches that recognize the whole person, not just a diagnosis, and Spring Lake Ranch’s longstanding commitment to healing through meaningful work, community, and personal growth embodies that philosophy in a remarkable way.
“What makes Spring Lake Ranch special is its belief that recovery happens not only through excellent clinical care, but also through connection, purpose, and belonging. I look forward to collaborating with the talented staff, residents, and families who make this community so unique, and to supporting individuals on their journeys toward greater wellness, resilience, and hope.”
This change in staffing comes as SLR’s long-time provider Dr. Jennifer Fauntleroy, MD, moves toward retirement. Her many years of service and commitment to the Ranch’s mission have positively impacted generations of residents.
Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community is a residential treatment facility in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The Ranch has been providing transformational care to adults experiencing mental health and substance use challenges since 1932.
