James P. Cross of Burlington has joined Champlain College as the new Associate Provost and Senior International Officer. He comes to Champlain from Clemson University in South Carolina where he served as the vice provost for international affairs and professor of political science.

He holds the credential of Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Prior experience includes serving as a Network Administrator in Phoenix, AZ, his hometown. Mr. Pratt has relocated here with his wife, Jennifer and two children Joshua and Rosselyn.

Stuart Kauffman, one of the world's most eminent scientists — a founder of the field of complex systems science, pioneer of biocomplexity research, and MacArthur "Genius" Fellow — will join the faculty of the University of Vermont in January, the university announced today.

The Vermont Ski Museum Board of Directors has selected Hubert Schriebl to receive the Paul Robbins Ski Journalism Award. The Paul Robbins Ski Journalism Award recognizes a Vermonter who performs his/her skill in written, broadcast, or photo journalism with ethics, humor, good taste and always with the promotion of Vermont skiing and the larger skiing community in mind.
