In order to enhance continuity in obstetrical services in Franklin County, Northwestern Medical Center will employ two local obstetricians and has entered into a contract with the third. As of January 1, 2010, Dr. Elisabeth Fontaine and Dr. Lowery Sullivan will be employees of NMC for obstetrical services, while continuing their private gynecology practice, Green Mountain OB/GYN. Dr.

Thirteen was the lucky number. On December 13th, 13 Chittenden County women graduated from the Women's Small Business Program Start Up offered at Mercy Connections in Burlington. The ceremony took place at Mercy's Shelburne Road location.

Doug Bouvier, who lives in Vergennes with his wife Jennifer Honeywood, previously worked at Shearer Chevrolet in Sales and Management for about 20 years. Nathan Mascolino, a design engineer at Vermont Heating and Ventilating located in Winooski, VT, has recently obtained licensing as a Professional Engineer from the State of Vermont. Nathan is a 2002 graduate of Clarkson University, and works with other Vermont Heating and Ventilating’s design engineers and LEED Accredited Professionals.

Doug Bergstein, a 5th and 6th grade science teacher at Fayston Elementary School in Waitsfield, Vermont is preparing to travel to Tamarino, Costa Rica January 15-25, 2010 where he will be studying and monitoring leatherback sea turtles as part of an Earthwatch Expedition being sponsored by the National Life Group Charitable Foundation.

Eric Adamowski has joined Propeller’s team as Project Manager and Online Marketing Specialist. He is a graduate of Champlain College’s Business Program and has most recently served as Founder of Armitage Digital, a strategic marketing and consulting company catering to small businesses in the Syracuse, NY region.

Bill Young, Executive Director of Maple Leaf Farm is pleased to announce the promotion of Stacey Dutil to Assessment Counselor. Stacey graduated from Champlain College in May with a B.S. in social work and is now in a master’s program at Seton Hall University working towards a dual degree of M.A. and Ed.S. in counseling.

The Women's Race Rape Crisis Center (WRCC) recently presented their annual Ally Award to HowardCenter Developmental Services. The award honors an individual or organization involved in preventing domestic and sexual violence.
