Attorney Andre D. Bouffard of the northern New England law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

Fifty Norwich University cadets will march 50 miles to raise funds for the Veterans’ Place, Inc., a Northfield transition home and support center for homeless veterans.

The three-day march will take cadets from the Norwich, Vt., site of the original Norwich University campus, to its current home of Northfield through scenic Vermont villages and over many ridges.

Housing Vermont has welcomed two new staff members. Janet Spitler joins the staff of the statewide nonprofit housing and community development organization as chief financial officer. Janet has extensive experience in real estate investment and banking, most recently as executive vice president of Merchants Bank.

Neagley & Chase Construction Company has announced a change in its top leadership. Andrew Martin has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, with Mark Neagley remaining as President of the company. Tom Chase has been named the company's Chairman.

Two local emergency responders and a longtime professional with the Vermont Agency of Human Services have been recognized for their contributions to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. Two certified nurse midwives have joined Gifford’s Birthing Center team: Ali Swanson, who comes to Randolph from a practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Vermont native Susan Paris. Established in 1977, Gifford’s Birthing Center was the first in Vermont to offer an alternative to traditional hospital-based deliveries, and continues to be a leader in midwifery and family-centered care.
