Amy Mattinat is recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.

Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) announces the opening of a new podiatry location at Ottauquechee Health Center (OHC) in Woodstock, VT. Podiatrist Jeffrey King, DPM, a Hospital staff member since 2009, began seeing patients at OHC in October and continues to provide podiatry care at MAHHC in Windsor as well.

Dr. David Currow, internationally known physician-scientist, author and educator, has been named director of Palliative Medicine and Hospice Care at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. He will join Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the Geisel School of Medicine as Professor of Medicine in January 2015.

Dozens of area men have been growing beards throughout the month of November to draw attention to men’s health issues and raise funds for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center staff gathered recently to recognize and thank Linda Jean Anoe for 45 years of service to MAHHC. Anoe was hired as the Hospital’s Record Librarian on October 16, 1969, responsible for organizing and managing patients’ medical records, and the transcription and coding of all health-related information.

Secretary of State Jim Condos has been selected to serve on the Council of State Governments’ policy committee to review oversees and military voter initiatives. CGS is a national, nonpartisan, non-profit that works within all three branches of government.

Jill Lord, RN, MS, Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Patient Care Services at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), has been named the Vermont Medical Society’s Citizen of the Year f0r 2014. The award is given annually to a non-physician resident of Vermont who has made significant contributions to the health of Vermonters.
