Association recognizes outstanding contributors to maple sugar industry
The Vermont Maple Sugar Makers' Association has announced its annual awards for contributions to and achievements in the Vermont maple sugar industry.
Recipients for 2024 are the family that owns and operates Stewart Maple, the Outstanding Sugar Maker Award; food safety advocate Jason Gagne (pictured), the Vermont Maple Person of the Year Award; and the late Robert "Ted" Young, the Sumner Williams Lifetime Achievement Award.

Norwich appoints distinguished alumnus as board chair
Alfred Gobeille, CEO at Gobeille Hospitality, has been elected chair of the board of trustees at Norwich University, his alma mater. Gobeille, former executive vice president and chief operating officer at the University of Vermont Health Network and former secretary of the Vermont Agency of Human Services, succeeds Alan DeForest, who served as chair the past nine years.
