Saint Michael’s professor to receive French order of knighthood
Peter Vantine, professor of classical and modern languages and literatures at Saint Michael's College, will be honored by the French government for his commitment to promoting French language, culture and education in Vermont and the United States.
Mustafa Soykurt, consul general of France in Boston, will bestow the Ordre des Palmes Académiques upon Vantine during a ceremony on campus on March 12. The honor is an order of knighthood in France and is one of the oldest civil honors bestowed by the French Republic.

Amy Stoll, clinical pharmacist at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, has been named Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year for 2025 by the Vermont Pharmacists Association. Stoll was recognized for her active participation in the association, volunteering in her community and supporting providers with clinical decision-making.

Patty McCarthy, CEO at Faces & Voices of Recovery, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for the recovery community, has been presented with the Legislative Champion Award by the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery.
McCarthy has spent over 25 years advancing policies that prioritize dignity, access to care and person-centered recovery support services. A Vermont native, she previously served as the director of Friends of Recovery Vermont.
