Casella Waste Systems drivers Frank Corl (pictured), Juan Caraballo and Daniel Hale were recently honored by the National Waste & Recycling Association as part of the organization's annual Drivers and Operators of the Year program.
“To have these three drivers recognized in this manner speaks to their commitment to our customers and communities to operate at such a high level over an extended period,” said Chairman and CEO John W. Casella.

Former agriculture secretary joins Campaign for Vermont Advisory Council
Campaign for Vermont, a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization dedicated to the vision of a more prosperous Vermont and growing middle class, has appointed Roger Allbee to its Advisory Council.
Allbee, former secretary of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, has helped shape the state’s agricultural landscape and inspired future generations to preserve Vermont’s rural traditions. He also previously served as CEO at Grace Cottage Hospital.
UVM Children’s Hospital NICU nurse honored at Fenway Park
Vanessa Defayette, a nurse at the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital, was among 10 nurses who were scheduled to be recognized at Fenway Park May 23 during Red Sox Nurse Appreciation Night. Defayette, who works in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, was nominated for the honor by colleague Christine Moon.
“Vanessa is a wife, mother and amazing NICU nurse,” Moon said. “She uses humor to lighten everyone around her and demonstrates compassion with parents and loving care of their infants in the NICU.
