Fletcher Allen Partners names chief financial officer

Fletcher Allen Partners announced today that it has named Todd Keating as chief financial officer, effective June 16.  The appointment was made following a national search.

“We’re thrilled to have Todd on board.  He has a proven track record of navigating the financial complexities of today’s health care environment,” said John Brumsted, MD.  “I am confident that the combined expertise of our finance team, led by Todd, will position us well as we transition from a fee-for-service payment structure to a population health management structure.”

Optometrist practice changes hands

After 45 years of practice, optometrist Dr. David Garbutt is retiring and transferring his practice to Dr. Francis (Frank) Pinard of Newport Optical. Dr. Pinard will begin seeing patients at 530 Washington Highway in Morrisville in early May. The Morrisville office will be a full-time second location for Dr. Pinard and his associates. Ophthalmologist Dr. Mark Iverson, who shared office space with Dr. Garbutt, will continue to see patients in the Morrisville office.

UVM awards seven REACH Grants to support faculty research

REACH grants of up to $30,0000 are designed to promote innovative research, scholarship and creative projects that enhance UVM's reputation as an incubator for cutting-edge ideas; encourage faculty members to reach the next level of achievement in their research trajectory; and leverage institutional investment by providing the building blocks to support a larger application for competitive outside funding.
