Brattleboro Memorial Hospital President and CEO Steven R Gordon announced today that Stephen H Fox, MD has joined the hospital’s staff, practicing in the BMH Center for Wound Healing.
Dr Fox received his BA from Cornell University and his MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Surgical Outcomes at Hartford Hospital. He comes to BMH from Baystate Franklin Medical Center where he served as Chief of Surgery, following positions in General Surgery at Associated Surgeons of Greenfield and Greenfield Surgery, and Medical Director at BMP Multi-Specialty Surgery Practice. He is board-certified in General Surgery and holds certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
“Dr Fox’s skills and experiences are a great match for our teams at the Wound Center,” said Gordon. “Since we are the only hospital in Vermont with a comprehensive wound care program including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, his experience with that technology will benefit countless patients.”
Fox cites the collegial environment of BMH as a key factor in his decision to accept the position. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work in partnership with a well-established team, who clearly respect each other’s skills and focus their attention on helping their patients,” said Fox.
Fox lives in Greenfield, MA with his wife of 22 years and their three sons. Among his many interests outside medicine, he enjoys bird watching, gardening, and model railroading.
