United Counseling Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Mary-Jeanne (MJ) Raleigh as the new Director of Youth and Family Services. MJ will be responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the agency’s system of care for children and families. “MJ brings a tremendous amount of energy and broad professional experience and we look forward to the leadership she will provide to the Youth and Family Services Division,” says Lorna Mattern, Executive Director. “She is a great addition to our UCS team.”
A native Vermonter, MJ is excited to be moving back to the state to lead the Youth and Family Service Division of United Counseling Service. “I am excited to join UCS and am proud to be part of an organization that serves so many within the community.” says MJ. “I am committed to working and strengthening our relationships with the families and agencies we work with in Bennington County.”
She has worked for 30 years as a Director of Mental Health Services at various colleges and universities, most recently at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she served as Director of Counseling and Psychological Services. MJ is a graduate of Antioch University of New England. She serves on several boards and is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Behavioral Intervention and a contributing author to a number of publications.
United Counseling Service provides support and guidance to help individuals and families improve their quality of life. UCS provides outpatient counseling and addictions services, emergency mental health services, extensive rehabilitation services, home and school-based services, employment services for people recovering from mental illness or with developmental disabilities and a nationally recognized Head Start program.
