Craig Bailey to host syndicated radio special for Joyride Media

Craig Bailey of Shelburne, Vermont, will host an upcoming syndicated radio special devoted to the band Pink Floyd. "Creation: The Early Years of Pink Floyd" is an hour-long program from Joyride Media of New York, NY. The program coincides with the release of a boxset of rare, early material from the band called "The Early Years 1965-1972." Bailey, who has produced and hosted his Pink Floyd program "Floydian Slip" for nearly 30 years, was hired by Joyride Media producer Paul Chuffo to host the special. His first job with Chuffo was hosting last summer's "Roger Waters: Amused to Death" radio special. "This boxset's the motherlode of rare Floyd," according to Bailey. "It's the stuff we all presumed was kicking around the vaults all these years that the band seem reluctant to acknowledge. "This special will only scrape the surface," he adds. "I'm looking forward to piling through it all over the next several months on 'Floydian Slip.'" The program will be available for stations to air beginning Wednesday, Nov 16. It'll feature a new interview with Pink Floyd drummer and co-founder Nick Mason, as well as cuts from the boxset. "The Early Years" boxset is a massive collection of 27 discs containing seven hours of previously unreleased audio, along with video and vinyl. Sony Music/Pink Floyd Records will release it on Nov 11 for $550.
