Tomorrow (June 10, 2008), Governor Jim Douglas will visit Milton CAT, a business with
an award-winning worksite wellness program, to sign two health care bills into
law.  Governor Douglas will be joined by legislators, advocates, insurance
company representatives and others as he signs H. 887 and S. 283.
 
H. 887 and S. 283 build on the groundbreaking reforms included in
Health Care Affordability Acts of 2006, including the new Catamount Health

MONTPELIER - Vermont Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers this week took more than 100 vehicles and drivers out of service and arrested four people during a three-day safety check along the Massachusetts border that ended June 5.

(June 6, 2008) The legislation requiring
the inspection of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant was be signed into law
today by Governor Jim Douglas.  The bill, S 364, provides guidelines for the
steps to be taken in the evaluation of the operating systems within the nuclear
plant in Vernon, Vermont.

Governor and VEDA Announce New $18 Million Economic Growth Program
Montpelier, Vt. - Governor Jim Douglas and Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) CEO Jo Bradley today announced the July 1 launch of a new economic growth program offering low interest capital for Vermont businesses with rates as low as three percentage points below Wall Street Prime.
The Economic Recovery and Opportunity Program will utilize $1.25 million in funds approved by the Legislature as part of Governor Douglas' 15-point Economic Growth Initiative.
