VERMONT CONVENTION BUREAU TO HOST TELEPHONE SALES BLITZ
Campaign Precedes Sales Mission to Nation's Capital
The Vermont Convention Bureau (VCB) will be holding its first-ever Phone
Sales Blitz at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center on
October 23, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. This unique event will serve as the
kickoff for the VCB's upcoming Sales Mission to Washington, D.C. by
qualifying meeting planners in the Metro D.C. area and generating business
prior to the trip.
With help from sixteen hotel sales professionals, the Sales Blitz will
create business for Vermont by raising awareness of the state as a premier
location for associations, corporations and professional organizations to
host meetings and events.
"Vermont offers so many of the things that meeting planners look for in a
conference destination," said Cindy Locke, Director of Sales for the VCB.
"We have world-class accommodations, plenty of year-round attractions and
provide an inspiring backdrop for both work and relaxation while helping
boost the state's economy."
The VCB will be in Washington, D.C. January 27-31, 2003 to meet with over
250 professional meeting planners. As part of the visit, the VCB, in
partnership with the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, will
host a media event and reception in the Vermont Room of the Daughters of
the American Revolution headquarters building.
