Sandra Steingard, M.D., Medical Director of The Howard Center for Human
Services, was selected by her peers to be included in Best Doctors in America
®2003-2004. Dr. Steingard has specific responsibilities for Howard’s adult
division serving individuals with mental illness and substance abuse problems.
Dr. Steingard was trained at Harvard and Tufts Universities. She is currently
Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UVM College of Medicine and
Medical Advisor to NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) – VT.
The Best Doctors in America database represents the top 5% of
doctors in over 400 subspecialties of medicine. The database has been
featured on CBS “60 Minutes,” and NBC “The Today Show,” as well as in
major national print media as an important resource to thousands of patients.
Paul Landerl, Coordinator of The Howard Center’s Community Support
Program, was named 2003 “Provider of the Year” by NAMI (National
Alliance for the Mentally Ill) – Vermont, at their 20th annual meeting. Landerl
is responsible for coordinating case management and social rehabilitation
services for individuals with major mental illnesses.
Two Howard Center employees, Mike Palombo, Clinical Supervisor of Adult
Outpatient services within the Adult Behavioral Health Services division,
and Linda Clark, Director of Intensive Family Based Services within the
Baird division, were honored by the Vermont Association for Mental Health.
They were inducted into the Association’s “20 Year Club,” initiated at its
annual meeting in December 2003.
