Vermont Business Magazine “We are deeply blessed by the gracious support we have received from Kohl’s. To have been only 1 of more than 150 organizations nationwide to have received support from Kohl’s A Community with Heart program is a strong affirmation of the positive and important work we are doing to provide affordable homeownership opportunities to income sensitive people in Central VT.
“We will use this $10,000 donation to purchase materials and equipment to help construct a side by side townhouse style duplex in Randolph, VT.
“These two housing units will provide affordable housing to two partner families, 1 from Montpelier and the other from Randolph, who are both in need of housing and who will both contribute at least 250 hours of sweat equity to help build their homes. This is the beginning of an opportunity for our partner homeowners to build strength, stability and self-reliance through homeownership,” said Zachariah Watson, Executive Director Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
The donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic merchandise program, Kohl’s Cares, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to charitable organizations across the country that improve the health and wellness of families.
