Charlotte Land Trust partners with Farm for Event
Vermont Business Magazine Earthkeep Farmcommon’s weekly “Farm Night” — a farmer’s market featuring goods produced sustainably and onsite by the Earthkeep Farmers’ Collective — on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 4-7 p.m., Charlotte-based Earthkeep will offer an expanded Farm Night in collaboration with the Charlotte Land Trust. Earthkeep on Route 7 is the former Nordic Farm.
The evening will feature local, sustainable food, a chance to celebrate and to learn more about the Charlotte Land Trust’s efforts to preserve land and support farmers.
Farms have been imperative to the town of Charlotte since its earliest beginnings. In recent years, however, the farming industry has changed and faced several challenges — locally, and nationally. The Charlotte Land Trust works to better understand those issues and how preserving land can play a role in strengthening and promoting farming in the community.
A small, volunteer-based organization, the Charlotte Land Trust values authentic conversations with real Vermonters and local landowners, according to its website. The organization prioritizes local outreach to inform others about the ways conservation impacts Vermont’s environment and landscape.
The Trust’s collaboration with Earthkeep for the upcoming Farm Night is a perfect example. In addition to the farmers of Earthkeep Farmcommon there will be a number of Charlotte farmers participating with a wide array of products for sale from their farms.
Charlotte participants include:
Adams Berry Farm — Organic berries
Aurora Farm — Organic grains
