Vermont Business Magazine Twin City Subaru, in partnership with Subaru of New England, Subaru of America, Inc, and Make-A-Wish, surprised a teen Leukemia survivor with a souped-up Subaru on Saturday, May 1. After a battle with acute Leukemia, 17-year-old Julia Chase of Barre, VT, wished for a makeover on her Subaru Legacy through Make-A-Wish Vermont, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Berlin, VT’s Twin City Subaru took in Julia’s older model Subaru Legacy earlier this year and gave it a complete overhaul: a fresh coat of paint, new upholstery, exterior upgrades, a blaring new sound system, colorful LED lights, and more. Prior to this, Subaru of America also contributed updates that included a new shift knob, pedal set, Bluetooth radio, WeatherTech floor mats, Subaru interior side sill lights, and more. The complete transformation will be revealed at the Vermont Retailer with Subaru of New England on Saturday evening, complete with music, a food truck, and Julia’s family and friends.
“At Subaru of New England, we’re proud to be more than a car company,” explains Executive Vice President & General Manager, Jeffrey T Ruble. “We couldn’t be happier to help with making Julia’s wish come true with the talented people at Twin City Subaru.”
Julia, who is now in remission, will certainly make a big impression as she heads to her freshman year of college in her new ride this fall.
