Vermont Business Magazine Top 25 bearded Vermonters to vie for Best Beard title this Saturday, April 17Saturday, April 17, from 7-8:30 pm, Make-A-Wish Vermont is hosting the final, in-person, culmination of their contest and fundraiser to find the Best Beard in Vermont. This outdoor, drive-in/tailgate style event will feature some of the best beards from across the state, along with Wish Kids, prizes, and more.

WHERE: Parking lot of The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory
WHY: These folks have already raised over $100k for wishes, and wishes bring hope, strength, and joy to the healing process for Vermont kids with life-threatening illnesses.
This Saturday, the parking lot of the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory will be full of a different type of bear… bearded Vermonters who’ve reached the top 25 in Make-A-Wish Vermont’s 5th Annual Vermont Beardies Competition and Fundraiser.
Over the past six weeks, participants raised money by showcasing their beards at vermontbeardies.com, raising $103,000 so far—nearly double last year’s total.
An outdoor, covid-safe event to celebrate the wish-granting power of whiskers
Vermont Wish Kids will lead the program and judge the contestants on their beards, awarding such honors as Ultimate Urban Beard, Best Backwoods Beard, and more.
One individual will be named Best Beard in Vermont, winning a luxury staycation at the Burlington Courtyard Marriott, and bragging rights for at least a year.
The evening will also feature axe throwing, with BurlyAxe of Burlington, food & beer, Wish-themed merchandise, and a big-screen presentation made possible by the portable outdoor screen of the Essex Experience.
Said Make-A-Wish Vermont President & CEO Jamie Hathaway, “The beard stuff is fun, but honestly we are just blown away by the effort these folks put into fundraising for us this year. They have broken all the records during a challenging time, and we want to celebrate and honor them for helping us make wishes come true.”
