Vermont Business Magazine Responding to shelves empty of hand sanitizer in local grocers, pharmacies, big-box stores and online as the novel coronavirus crisis overwhelms Vermonters, co-owners Jeremy and Ron Elliott are using the unique resources of their distillery to help meet the shortage. With the help of an amazing staff, priorities at Smugglers’ Notch Distillery flipped overnight from crafting spirits to producing hand sanitizer.

“With the abrupt intrusion of COVID -19 in our lives, Smugglers' Notch Distillery has turned its focus towards working on a solution to close the gap on the unavailability of preventive hygiene products that help insure that our family and friends stay safe,” says Ron Elliott, co-owner.

Adds Jeremy, “The SND team is a group of proud Vermonters, eager to be given an opportunity to help in our small way.  This is an unsettling moment in our history and we are pivoting together quickly for community good.”

SND Hand Sanitizer will be available at our tasting rooms in Jeffersonville and Waterbury as soon as “all hands on deck” at the Jeffersonville Smugglers’ Notch Distillery can produce and bottle it.  Please check for updates.  A portion of the proceeds from sales will be contributed to state mitigation efforts through the Governor’s Declaration of a State of Emergency in Response to COVID-19.
