Kingdom Community Wind tours return this summer

Thu, 05/16/2019 - 2:46am -- tim

Vermont Business Magazine Green Mountain Power (GMP) is bringing back its popular tours at the Kingdom Community Wind Project in Lowell, Vermont this summer. It will be the seventh season that Vermonters and tourists alike can see a wind farm up close to learn more about how wind energy works. The tours are free, but you have to register in advance.

The tours draw many to the region each summer, with more than 1,200 people making the trip up to check out the Lowell Mountain site.  Tour participants praised the experience in a survey:

“The informal setting was good for asking whatever question we had.”

“Learned a lot about the wind turbines. Also a great view!”

“The turbines are impressive and very quiet. I find them very calming to watch.”

“They are awesome sculptural objects.”

Participants get to visit two of the project’s 21 wind turbines and the tour lasts about 90 minutes.

2019 Tour Dates

June 12 10:00 am
