Wildlife Management Areas Permit Hunting, Fishing & Trapping
Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) are lands that have been protected as wildlife habitat and are open hunting, fishing and trapping. The department's 93 WMAs offer free access to Vermont's wilderness during your favorite hunting season. Since 1919, we have protected more than 140,000 acres now designated as WMAs.
You can help us continue to protect these lands with a donation to the Habitat Stamp when you pick up your hunting tag online.
