Between a Rock and
a Hard Place
Our keynote speaker will be Aron Ralston, outdoorsman and mechanical engineer known for cutting off his own arm to survive a hiking accident.
Aron will relate how his canyon entrapment and self-rescue is evidence of how we can overcome our own “boulders.”
Best Practice Models to Advance Health Equity in Health Care Organizations*
Using excerpts from a new documentary about inequity in health care, Maria Mercedes Avila, PhD and several panelists will discuss how health care organizations can improve care and communications.
The Listen Up Project: A Report on What Drives Vermont Teens*
Fresh off a statewide summer tour, producer/director Bess O'Brien will describe how an original musical inspired, created and performed by Vermont teens was born. She'll also give insight into the issues important to Vermont teens—and play some clips from the recording of the live show.
Cultivating Resilience: The Power of Calling, Self Awareness,
and Collegiality*
Lumunos's Doug Wysockey-Johnson will discuss literature and evidence around calling and medicine, and a few practices that help clinicians reconnect with their calling, examine different peer-support best practices and present a few efficient mindfulness tools that can be easily implemented.
PLUS the debut of a brand new documentary on Vermont's response to COVID-19 and a conversation between our CEO, Jeff Tieman, and Dr. Mark Levine, Vermont's health commissioner!
