Children Advocacy Conferences in Montpelier, Johnson and Manchester

Let’s Grow Kids (LGK) is hosting free Leading Change for Children advocacy conferences in Montpelier, Johnson and Manchester that will bring Vermonters from all walks of life together in support of high-quality, affordable child care.

“It’s because of the 30,000 Vermonters who’ve joined this movement that we saw a historic $7.4 million investment in child care in 2019 – a significant increase that’s providing real relief for Vermont families but only a first step to making high-quality, affordable child care a reality for all Vermont families who need it,” said Let’s Grow Kids CEO Aly Richards. “The Leading Change for Children conferences will prepare us to create even bigger change together in 2020.”

Leading Change for Children 2019 advocacy conferences include:

  • One weekday conference on Tuesday, December 3 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Vermont State House in Montpelier.
  • Two weekend conferences on Saturday, December 7 from 9 AM to 2 PM at Northern Vermont University in Johnson and Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester.

Conference attendees will have the chance to learn about the ins and outs of the legislative process, create regional action plans and attend workshops on a range of topics including how to organize a No Small Matter film screening in your community and learning how health care and child care professionals are working together to give kids healthy foundations.

Early educators who attend the free conference can earn professional development credits.

Conferences are free to attendees thanks to LGK’s generous donors. Visit letsgrowkids.org/conference to register and learn more.
