WORKSHOP ON CYBERSECURITY FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
How to Keep Your Business Safe in Today’s Electronic Workplace
Firewalls, strong passwords, and encryption are all important, but often all it takes is one click on the wrong link to bring your business to its knees. In fact, the 2018 Verizon breach report found that "companies are nearly three times more likely to get breached by social attacks than via actual vulnerabilities, emphasizing the need for ongoing employee cybersecurity education."
In this presentation we'll show you how to spot phishing emails, fake logins, spoofed websites, wire fraud, phone/text phishing, weak passwords, and more. Live hacking and phishing demos will also be provided to illustrate the simplicity and impact of today's most prevalent cyber attacks.
Presented by rbTech's resident security engineer Dave Porcello, founder of Pwnie Express and inventor of the award-winning Pwn Plug security testing device featured on Good Morning America, NPR, CNN, Forbes, Wired, and “Mr. Robot”. In his 18 years of field experience Dave has also served as Security Director for Vermont Mutual, professor at Norwich University, and advisor for NPR and other public figures.
The workshop will take place on June 26th from 9 am to noon in the Community Center at Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park.
