An expert panel—including Orthopedic Surgeon Michaela Schneiderbauer, MD; Non-surgical Sports Medicine Specialist Ivette Guttmann, MD, both of SVMC Orthopedics; and Mark Epler, DPT, of SVMC’s Outpatient Therapy Department and Twin Rivers Medical, P.C.—will address prevention, treatment options, and recovery for joint pain. Attendees will learn about what they can do to maintain or recover their quality of life.

About the Presenters:
Dr. Mark Epler, doctor of physical therapy, has practiced for 19 years. He received his clinical doctorate at Temple University in Pennsylvania, his master’s in physical therapy from the University of Delaware, and his bachelor’s in political science from Penn State University. He is a certified strength conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dr. Ivette Guttmann earned her medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Centro America in Costa Rica and completed the pediatrics residency training program at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico in 2012. In addition, she completed fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Albany Medical Center in New York in 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida State University and an associate’s degree from Miami-Dade Community College in 1994. She is board certified by the American Board for both Pediatrics and Primary Care Sports Medicine.

Dr. Michaela Schneiderbauer earned her medical degree at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany, and the Harvard Medical School Program for Medical Education in Massachusetts. She completed residency training at Basel University Hospital in Switzerland. In addition, she completed fellowships in joint replacement surgery and training in orthopedic oncology with the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. She is board certified by American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
