Medical studies indicate that eating healthfully prevents heart disease. In recognition of the American Heart Association’s Heart Month, observed each February, Southwestern Vermont Health Care will host its third annual Cooking with Your Heart event, an interactive cooking and tasting experience designed to help community members lessen the effects of heart disease on their lives.
The event will be held 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 at Milne Public Library, 1095 Main Street, Williamstown, MA. The program is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited. Attendees are asked to RSVP via e-mail to email@example.com or by calling 802-447-5019 by February 21.
Presenting at the event will be Kristin Irace, RD, SVMC registered dietitian; Laura LaCroix, SVMC executive chef; and Alison Malmborg, MSN, ARNP, and Jennifer Thuermer, DNP, ACNP, cardiac care nurse practitioners at SVMC Cardiology. Each will share their favorite heart-healthy recipes, and Chef LaCroix will demonstrate a few that audience members can try at home. Tastings and a door prize will be offered.
