Saturday, December 1, Sunday December 2

Saint Michael’s College presents a concert by Bella Voce, a women’s chorus of Vermont, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday in the McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall. These performances will be Holiday Concerts with the Inora Brass Quintet.

Saturday, December 1

Saint Michael’s College presents a concert by the Saint Michael’s College String Orchestra under the direction of Fran Pepperman Taylor, and accompanied by organist, Susan Summerfield, at 7 p.m. in theChapel of Saint Michael the Archangel. Selections will include pieces from Saint Michael’s own Richard Stoehr, plus Leonard Bernstein, Amy Beach, Corelli's Christmas Concerto, and more.

Sunday, December 2

Saint Michael’s College presents 17 Christmas and seasonal carols in a community sing-a-long in the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel at 3 p.m. Organist and music director is William Tortolano, professor emeritus of fine arts and music at Saint Michael's College. His solo organ concert career included performances at Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, and Cathedrals in London, Glasgow and New York City. The program will be presented at four churches of acoustical, and historic interest: The Saint Michael's College Chapel; Blessed Sacrament Church in Stowe (on December 9 at 4:30 p.m.); Saint Luke’s in Fairfax (on December 16 at 4 p.m.) and Saint Peter’s in Vergennes (on December 23 at 3 p.m.). The carols include settings by Handel and Mendelssohn; carols from Germany, Austria, France and Italy will be sung in English and one verse in the original languages; and familiar favorites: The Twelve Days of Christmas and White Christmas. Organ music was selected to fit the particular instruments at each Church, including Petro Yon, Buxtehude, and J.S. Bach. The concerts are free and open to the public. A free will donation, for charity, will be available.

Tuesday, December 4

Saint Michael’s College presents Soulful Harmony's Winter Concert at 8 p.m. in the McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall. This is the student vocal group Soulful Harmony's Annual Winter Concert. Come hear what we've been working on all semester!

Wednesday, December 5

Saint Michael’s College presents a Sleepless Knights Concert at 8 p.m. in McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall, The Sleepless Knights are a co-ed A Cappella group on campus, who will be performing several new songs at this concert. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., concert starts at 8 p.m.

Thursday, December 6

Saint Michael’s College presents an Acabellas Winter Concert at 6 p.m. in McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall. Great music from the College’s all-female A Cappella group, plus good food, and a raffle!

Friday, December 7

Saint Michael’s College presents a Christmas Concert by the Saint Michael's College Chorale and String Ensemble at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel. The Saint Michael's College Chorale, directed by Erin Grainger, sings Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël, accompanied on organ by Susan Summerfield. The program will open with some familiar Christmas music and carols, with the audience invited to sing along. Soloists are Victoria Drew, soprano, Amy Frostman, mezzo soprano, Adam Hall, tenor and Zebulun McLellan, bass. The program will be repeated on Sunday, December 9 at 3 p.m. in St. Albans at the First Congregational Church.

Saturday, December 8

Saint Michael’s College with the Society of St. Edmund, our founding religious order in residence, will celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel.

Saturday, December 8

Saint Michael’s College presents a concert by the South Burlington Community Chorus at 7:30 p.m. in the McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall.

Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25

Saint Michael’s College with the Society of St. Edmund, our founding religious order in residence, will celebrate Mass for Christmas Eve on Monday, December 24 at 8 p.m. and Mass for Christmas Day at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 25, both in the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel.

Tuesday, January 1

Saint Michael’s College with the Society of St. Edmund, our founding religious order in residence, will celebrate Mass for the Solemnity of Mary at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel.
