BURLINGTON, Vt.--Champlain College's Bring-Your-Own-Business program (BYOBiz) is launching a new speaker series focused on entrepreneurship.
The talks are free and open to the public and will cover a wide range of business topics of interest to future and current entrepreneurs.
"The BYOBiz Speaker Series&And Entrepreneurship for All" kicks off in March with two offerings.
On Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m., several area retailers will discuss "Retailing in the Millennium--Challenges and Opportunities."
Representatives from Earl's Cyclery and Fitness, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Small Dog Electronics, Steeze and The Body Shop will take part in the discussion.
Offered in Champlain College's Alumni Auditorium at 375 Maple Street, Burlington.
On Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m., Bob Verrico of Giant Step Strategies will discuss "Using the Latest Technology to Place a Value on Your Customer."

ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -- One of the largest equine educational events in New England continues to grow as plans are finalized for the 2007 Everything Equine show on April 28-29 at Champlain Valley Exposition (CVE).
Business Interiors announced this week that Suzanne Ludlow has joined the firm as Director of Business Development. Suzanne's responsibilities will extend to all markets within Business Interiors' Northern New England footprint.
Suzanne is a contract furniture industry veteran, having most recently served as Market Manager for Details, a Steelcase Inc. subsidiary, in the Southwestern U.S.
Suzanne has extensive experience creating successful, long-term customer relationships based upon her abilities to understand their unique workplace requirements. In her new position, Suzanne will contribute strong strategic, creative, and consultative-selling skills.
MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Vermont Department of Economic Development has promoted one of its own to lead the program responsible for recruiting businesses to come to Vermont.
Brennan Duffy has been named to the position of Director of Recruitment for the Vermont Department of Economic Development, according to Commissioner Mike Quinn.
"Brennan has been a great addition to our team, and will continue his leadership in the recruitment post," Quinn said.
"By attracting and assisting out-of-state companies to expand in or relocate to Vermont he will to help grow the state's economic base and create jobs for our citizens."
"Having grown up in Vermont, I am very excited about working in this new capacity," Duffy said.
"I'm looking forward to working with the state's many partners in our efforts to attract quality businesses to the Green Mountains."

2007 Vermont Flower Show Celebrates
"Walk on the Wild Side" with Wilderness Landscapes
Essex Junction, VT - The 13th Annual Vermont Flower Show will celebrate the Vermont wilderness landscape when it brings an early taste of spring to the Champlain Valley Exposition on March 9-11.
This year's theme, "Walk on the Wild Side," will literally come to life under the direction of Rebecca Lindenmeyr of Linden Landscaping & Design, Inc., this year's show designer.
"A flower show by definition is a fanciful creation, born out of a passionate desire to see the cogs of the wheel of life turn once again, to launch us out our winter paralysis and bring us signs of a hopeful spring," Linenmeyr said.
