Vermont Business Magazine On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, the members of LIFT (Locally Impacting the Future Together) Giving Circle presented a collective donation of $18,500 to Steps to End Domestic Violence (Steps)’s Children’s Program. Steps offers a wide range of support to families experiencing domestic violence. LIFT’s donation will allow Steps to restore programs that had been cut from its Children’s Program, including playgroups which help children witnessing domestic violence process and understand their feelings.

Vermont Business Magazine New data released from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that despite an overall decrease in fatal vehicular crashes, the number of people killed while walking and biking has increased – a trend that Vermont health and transportation officials want thrown into reverse. 6,283 pedestrians were killed in the US during 2018 while walking – the highest number since 1990. In Vermont, nine pedestrians were struck and killed while walking along roads in 2017, and 133 pedestrians and 179 bicyclists were hospitalized or went to an emergency department after a crash involving a vehicle.
